Description
The primary purpose of this position is to support the consumer safety of new products and legacy/existing formulas coming in from newly-acquired brands. This individual will be assigned several projects of differing degrees of complexity and is expected to manage priorities and stay on top of critical deadlines. They will be responsible for the initial review and gap analysis of toxicology, in vitro and clinical reports. In addition, there may be on-boarding and maintenance work required to support the overall PS&T team The individual will be required to maintain data integrity in all ingredient and formula assessments, perform research and literature reviews, as well as write reports, perform database entry, and manage large amounts of data in a detailed and orderly fashion. Knowledge of consumer goods/cosmetics is highly preferred. There may be some off hours due to client time zone differences.
• Safety data intake, sorting and tracking.
• Keep Senior PS&T management informed of integration project progress.
• Provide clear and frequent status updates to project toxicologist to ensure on track.
• Be assigned several projects of different degrees of complexity which will include research, literature searching, recording data and interpreting results, and writing reports.
• Work independently with a minimum amount of supervision with decision making skills that enable completion of ingredient and formula reviews with a minimum of supervision.
• Collaborate with Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) group, formulation scientists and New Brand Empowerment (NBE) teams on data requirements and communicate safety positions.
Qualifications
B.S. in toxicology or in a related discipline; Masters or Ph.D. preferred
2+ year of cosmetic safety experience desired
DABT, ERT or DCST certification is a plus
Degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or health and science fields, and familiarity with cosmetics or personal care products is preferred. Academic background in scientific data evaluation and analysis, strong technical writing and communication skills, and an understanding of risk assessment principles is desired. In addition, problem solving skills, strong attention to detail and project management ability are a plus.
Strong English communications skills (written and spoken) are crucial.
Microsoft office, Statistical analysis skills a plus.
Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00 . Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
